Character Does Matter Service Projects – 2013
Similar to 2012, Eric’s dad and representatives from the Travis Manion foundation presented the Character Does Matter program to Severna Park High School. Students then had the opportunity to participate in service projects coordinated by Eric’s dad and earn scholarships funded by both the Travis Manion foundation and Eric’s family.

Service projects put together by Eric’s dad as part of a challenge grant offered by the Travis Manion Foundation. The service projects included Habitat for Humanity build events and writing biographies of Fallen Heroes for the Fallen Heroes Portrait Project.
Rugby Field Named in Eric’s Honor by American Legion Post 175
American Legion Post 175 in Severna Park, Maryland, dedicated their athletic field in Eric’s honor in a moving ceremony on Memorial Day. Eric played rubgy there with the Severn River Rugby club, many of whose members were in attendance including Eric’s former coach
Mona Shores School Visit – 2012
On June 16, 2012, 102 students and chaparones from Mona Shores Middle School in Michigan met at Arlington Cemetery. This was the fifth consecutive year that Eric Wahlberg and the Mona Shores staff conducted the visit. Melanie and Brendan and two other students presented the wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
