August 2015 Update:
Dear Herzberg Family,
It has been sometime since we’ve spoken but I’ve thought of your family often over the years. This family has shown so much love and generosity which has inspired me to help others and give back to the world. I recently graduated from Towson University with a 3.7 GPA and was accepted to the doctoral program of Audiology at Towson University. Additionally, after Graduate school I plan on working for the Veterans Administration in order to help veterans who have developed a Hearing loss.
During my time at Towson University I became a member of the Kappa Sigma fraternity which dedicates a lot of their efforts to raising money towards the wounded warrior project. I joined this fraternity because their morals and values are similar to my own. Also, I spent many of my weekends backpacking and hiking along the Appalachian trail. Overall, my experience at college was unforgettable and the knowledge and life lessons I have learned from my years there will help shape me into the best person I can be. This would not be possible if it were not your generosity and compassion.
There is so much more to talk about and hopefully we can find time in our busy schedules to catch up and talk about life. Wish your family the best and cannot wait to see you soon.
Love,
Michael DiSanti
June 2013 update
Dear Herzberg Family,
Oh how we miss you guys and boy do we have a lot to catch up on! So starting off with school in the fall I received a 3.4 for the semester but do not fret I received a 3.8 for the spring overall my GPA is 3.623. I joined kappa sigma a wonderful fraternity founded on Christian beliefs! This fraternity instills the importance of diligence and commitment to school, community, family, and to God. While the year was fun and successful, there were some downsides. We lost two good friends of ours. Taylor Wild, an honorable man who served in the Marines to protect this wonderful country we live in and to protect its people. He lost his life giving his service to our country and we will never forget him. It sheds a new light on how important those people are and to thank those in the military every day and pray for them as well. I still pray for Eric and I am so grateful to wake up everyday and dedicate my life to bettering our world just as he did. We also lost another friend this year. He took his own life jumping off the bay bridge. It had been an extremely rough year but through all this it makes us stronger and as a result makes us appreciate the life God has given us. On a brighter note I just received an internship with my mom’s audiology practice and am excited to pursue that. We must have dinner in the near future so I can tell you all this wonder full news over dinner! Miss you all hope all is well!
Love Michael and Nick DiSanti
Nick and Mike – it’s great to hear from you. We are so sorry to hear about your friends. I just mailed a letter to the Wild family offering them the use of the Fallen Heroes Portrait Foundation. We’d love to get together with you and will contact you separately about that. Thank you for the update!
December 2011 Update:
Hey what’s going on second family! Just wanted to check up and see how everyone is holding up. I am going through the rigors of finals week and wanted to update you on how the college life is treating me. I have joined to the sign language club and have attended a couple meetings of a christian club. I also am the treasurer of the wrestling club and practices will start up second semester. I have 2 A’s 2 A-‘s and 1 B+. Hopefully if all goes well on the finals I will end up with all A’s. I just completed my math and sign language final and I am confident I did well.
My brother and I will be home for about a month this christmas break and I wish you all happy holidays. If you all are not to busy maybe we can make another trip up to see you all.
Much love,
Michael and Nick DiSanti
P.S – The website it looks great.
Hi Disanti brothers! Thank you for the update! It sounds like you are settling in well to college life. We would love to have you at our place for a visit. Is that possible? I’d like to hear more about the Christian club you are in – what is that like?
Lots going on with us….let’s see……..Wendi and I are grandparents. Melissa had a baby boy who she named Liam. She and baby are doing well. Wendi gets to be a part-time mom again which she loves. Melanie won an essay contest at school from among 800 entrants. Brendan (who you didn’t meet – he’s Wendi’s 12 year old boy) came for Thanksgiving and is now staying with us permanently. So we have 3 kids and a grandchild with us. I had to give up running because I tore cartilege in my left hip and it needs surgery. So I didn’t run this years marathon. The running did a lot for me so now I have to find a substitute activity. I suggested to Wendi that my new hobby be “letting myself go” but she didn’t react too favorably. Ping pong is out……nobody can hang with me. So I guess it’s music.
Please let us know when are good dates for you. Maybe we can all go bowling or ice skating. I know the kids would love to hang out.
Thanks again for the update guys.
Love
Eric and Wendi
