Thank you so much, I am honored to be the recipient of the 2021 Eric Herzberg Memorial Scholarship! I am looking forward to hopefully getting to meet you sometime soon! I will inform my guidance counselor that I will be attending University of Maryland Baltimore County and I will verify that she has what is necessary for sending the funds to the financial aid office. Hi Mr. Herzberg,
I hope all is well in the Herzberg household! I am very sorry about my delayed response to your email! My freshman year was a blast making new friends and being part of the lacrosse team. However, I had a challenging roommate which was a lot of added stress to everything throughout the year. It pushed me to study hall which helped me finish the year with a cumulative GPA of a 3.8. I also spent a few times a week at several bible studies to help provide me some sort of guidance and encouragement.
There were many times this year where I looked back and thought about the impact that Eric had on the people around him and I felt so empowered in those moments. He did everything and then some, he was a warrior of faith and humility and I wish only to be able to live a similar life to that of your son. The way he carried himself and served those around him is so inspiring.

Hi Reagan – thank you responding back. Sounds like you had a year of achievement as well as challenges. Funny how a lot of times, they both come together in the same package. Good for you that you were able to elevate yourself. Roommates can be very stressful if you don’t see things the same way. Have a restful summer and we look forward to future updates! Many blessings
